What is the representative coal samples?

The so-called representative coal sample refers to the small amount of fuel , which can be taken on behalf of a group of average quality and characteristics of this fuel. Since the sample is taken from all parts of the fuel group, the sample has no systematic deviation.
How to get the accurate and reliable analysis result for ash determination?

1. Adopting Slow Ash Method, make the sulfides in coal sample fully oxidated and discharge before the carbonate decomposition to avoid the calcium sulfate formation.

2. Keep a good ventilation condition in the ashing process to make sure the sulfur oxides can discharge in time. Therefore , the muffle furnace is required to be equipped with chimney. The vent in the furnace door or a slit kept while closing the furnace door are used to ensure a natural air circulation in the furnace.

3. Flatten the coal sample in the crucible to avoid the sunburner. On the one hand, it can ensure the fully combustion; on the other hand, it can prevent the SO₂ formed by sulfide from being decomposed by carbonate and then avoid generating calcium oxide.

4. The coal sample is required to be burnt in high temperature over 800℃for enough time to ensure the complete decomposition of carbonate and the fully discharge of SO₂.
Display the low voltage of TCD cell after analysis.

Measuring TCD detection voltage has already set in the software. When the measuring TCD cell voltage of carbon and moisture is less than 7.5V in traditional software, it will show low measuring TCD cell voltage in prompt box, attention, it’s only effective to measuring TCD cell. For carbon monitor TCD cell, no worry about it’s drop of voltage.

The new version software has low down the voltage to 6.5V.

Besides, there has no lowest voltage for infrared sulfur analyzer.
Abnormal stop at analysis 3 with error in a row, even with blank sample.

Process to solve the problem:

The error list of the latest software as below:

Sweep1, sweep9: piston can’t reach the bottom in regular

Reason1. nitrogen switch off or pressure is not enough

Reason2. down Hall sensor is broken

Reason3. tank piston is blocked

Reason4. SV7/D3 magnetic valve or relay is broken.

Sweep8, burn3: piston can’t reach the top in regular

Reason1. oxygen switch off or pressure is not enough

Reason2. the whole gas circuit is leak

Reason3. the furnace combustion tube is blocked, need to clean

Reason4. up Hall sensor is broken

Reason5. ballast piston is blocked

Analysis3: TCD padding pressure won’t reach the setting value

Reason1. the current limiter AS10 need to adjust again (if you guide the main exhaust outdoor, padding resistance will increase)

Reason2. PV4 relay is breakdown (power on state)

Burn2: please check whether the sample is blocked or not, because no detection of burning

Reason1. sample block in the furnace cover

Reason3. make sure with carbon in the sample, if it is NH4NO3, special dispose is required.
How to solve the probelem that the temperature of oven can’t be controlled and rushed to 55℃?

Process to solve the problem:
First, the ultimate temperature of oven and tank is 55℃, we just compile this temperature in the software. PT100 is the temperature testing element, is hard to break.

Second, it’s October now, the weather is nice and cool, the temperature of ambiance won’t affect the temperature control of oven.

It means the oven keep on heating when the temperature rushed to 55℃, you can check if the temperature will low down after you reset the oven temperature at 0℃. If won’t low down, it means heating won’t stop, but it shouldn’t be. Then check whether the heating element has 220V voltage with plug-in board, if have, it means the relay on the control board is breakdown, you need to change it.

If not in a hurry, there comes another solution: for a new TCD instrument, there has a spare relay for TCD heating (the right side of J5), you can separate it and then changed.
How to test the calorific value of oil stuff?

Calorific value test, application in oil sample:

Apparatus:
1 Calorimeter: 5E-AC/PL, 5E-C5500or 5E-C5800
2:Oil sample : Heavy oil with low volatility
3:officinal capsule: Buy from market or CKIC.

Operations:
Step 1: Do CV test for the capsule
1. Press the capsule into small pieces as below picture:
2. Do the CV test for capsule with calorimeter
According to common operation procedure.

See the test result:

The CV for capsule(addative) we use inCKIC, average value :18.558J/g

Step2 :Do CV test for Oil sample:
1. Fill oil into the capsule as below:
Open the cover of the capsule then
Inject the oil with a syringe;
Weighing the Oil mass after injection;
The mass of oil should almost around
0.5~0.7g, Reduce the Oil mass if
it’s CV is Much higher than 40MJ/kg

2. Install the ignition wire as below photo:
Ignition wire can circle around the
Capsule while should not touch the Crucible .

3. Oxygen gas charging pressure for bomb should also be 2.8~3.1Mpa

Note : The test report should point out the CV didn’t take the Moisture in the Oil into consideration.
